• Wolves in Northern Yukon and adjacent NWT regulated at naturally low numbers by:
    • seasonal caribou availability
    • low denning success
    • normal natural mortality (1 in 4 die each year)
  • Low harvest by hunters and trappers in whole range of PCH, some years high harvest in Aklavik
  • Kill rates on caribou are normal but wolves do not have strong impact on PCH due to small wolf population size (600 wolves)
